Sansa is as an international artists’ association initiated by a mixed group of college-trained, compound-trained and street artists, with a common belief in pluralism of approaches within art-making.
Sansa's main aim is to organise international art workshops, based upon the Triangle Network model, in order to bring contemporary art closer to the people of Ghana as well as engaging itself in may other activities including Artists’ Residencies, Artists’ Talks, Seminars, Exhibitions, and Community Outreach and Educational Programmes- Sansa's projects and workshops often have vast international participation with visitng artists from Ghana, Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, South Africa, Kenya, USA, Austria, France, Togo, Cameroon, Japan, Germany, Wales, Iran, India, Korea, China and Switzerland.

The administrative centre for Sansa is now at the Department of Painting and Sculpture, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana, to which it is affiliated. Sansa is also affiliated to the Kumasi Centre for Paper Arts.
