Through video, photography and performance, Ben Judd explores his relationship to particular outsider groups who have their own rules and belief systems, often positioning himself on the periphery of the group as both participant and observer. While on residency at Lugar a Dudas, Ben fabricated the contradictory movement I Will Heal You, one that takes its beliefs from an eclectic range of sources. Jewellery, furniture, clothes and an architectural model from the movement act as artefacts of the movement designed by members for the principals of ceremony and enlightenment. The promotional video for I Will Heal You, constructed through Judd's contact with a witch, a parapsychologist, fundamentalist Christians, and the sole member of a new religion, went on to be exhibited in the group show The Juddykes at the Old Art Shop at John Jones, June 2007.
